Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.
— Mary Ritter Beard

Don’t just see the sights — experience a culture.

I’m all about crafting vacations with style, substance and sustainability. I want to help you move beyond the ordinary getaway, push past the tourist attractions and delve deeper into the culture and history of the countries you visit.

I’ll show you the picture-perfect beauty that you see on Instagram, but I’ll also encourage you to turn around and see the reality and the context of the places you visit. My services are perfect for travelers who want it all — the comfort and luxury of some really fantastic hotels, insights and deep knowledge from personal guides, the simple deliciousness of street food and an understanding of the complexity of a different culture.

Let’s Talk About Me!

Now is the moment you’ve ALL been waiting for — when you get to hear about me! I was born on a warm Sunday morning in 1981 in a small town in South Carolina …

[TWO HOURS LATER … ]

… so after living in Singapore as a teenager and embracing the FREEDOM that comes with living in a huge, incredibly safe city, I fell in love with this whole travel thing, traveling throughout Asia and Europe. Then life happened, and I added a husband, two kids, four cats and a hedgehog to my life, which are all AMAZING … but I realized one day that it had been YEARS since I had fed the travel bug. And so I set about fixing that.

First up was Iceland with my husband in 2016 — our first time on an airplane since our honeymoon in 2004! We followed it up with a trip to Peru before realizing we needed to include the kids on our trips, so then we ventured out to Costa Rica for my kids’ first international trip, and they promptly fell in love with both travel and sloths.

It was on that trip with my family, watching my kids fall in love with the experiences and people of Costa Rica (they STILL talk about our guide there), that I realized that travel is more than just fun — it shapes the way you think about the world, broadens horizons and is a pretty amazing way to make friends … and a living.

And so here I am! Ready to help you feed YOUR travel bug, whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, with your family, or with random strangers you found on Craigslist (ok, maybe not that last one … that sounds super creepy).
